Zambia Hosts Annual Review and Planning Meeting of the Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination, Schistosomiasis Control and Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis Control Programmes
Lusaka 6th, June 2011 -- Zambia is hosting the 10th programme manager’s annual review and planning meeting for Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination (LFE), Schistosomias Control and Soil Transmitted Helminthiasis (STH) Control Programmes. The 5 day meeting which has brought together a total of 78 participants out of which 48 are programme managers will take place from 6-10 June 2011.
The objective of the meeting is to sstrengthen Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) control programme management capacities and contribute to the acceleration of the reduction of the burden of lymphatic filariasis, Schistosomiasis and Soil-transmitted helminthiasis in the African region. The meeting has been organized by the World Health Organization in collaboration with partners including Centre for Neglected Tropical Diseases (CNTD), GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Global Network for NTDs, Liverpool Associates in Tropical Health (LATH), SFHI, Schistosomiasis Control Initiative and USAID/RTI International.
